Information

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates
that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires,
which resulted in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. Fires can occur when
lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct.  Lint can block
the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in
some dryers.

Dryer performance Warning Signs

  • Clothes drying time is very long, more then 35-45 minutes.
  • Clothing is hotter than normal at the end of the cycle.
  • Vent Hood Flapper doesn't open when dryer is on.

Dryer vent cleaning saves energy; therefore, saving money.

A poorly vented clothes dryer can cost an additional $25.00
per month to operate. In addition, proper maintenance maximizes
airflow and reduces the workload while eliminating the need for
unnecessary repairs.

Dryer vent cleaning extends the life of the appliance.

The most important reason to maintain clean dryer vents is to
prevent dryer fires.  A improper dryer vent installation and the
use of inferior dryer vent materials such as a flexible foil or vinyl
dryer vent hose is one of the leading causes of dryer fires.  The
number one cause of dryer catching fire is the failure to clean the
dryer vents and ducts.
